What Does God Know About You?

What Does God Know About You?

Psalm 139:1-6 (ESV) ~ O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

  • God Know Your Possibilities
    • He knows what you are made of
      • Psalm 139:15-16 (ESV) ~ My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
    • He knows what you can become, what you can accomplish, and what you can handle.
    • God knew Esther’s, Joseph’s, and David’s possibilities when friends and family had given up on them.
    • The best thing you will ever do for yourself is put your life and future into God’s hands so He can lead you to become what He knows you can.
      • Proverbs 3:5-8 (ESV) ~ Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
    • God Knows Your Limits
      • All of us are different, so are our limits.
      • He knows what you can’t do and what you can’t handle.
      • He has made you a very important promise:
        • 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV) ~ No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
      • Your God will never fail you, if you will follow Him.
    • God Knows You Need
      • None of us always knows what we need because of man’s fall in the garden.
      • Even Christians do not have perfect understanding in every situation.
        • 1 Corinthians 13:12 (ESV) ~ For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
      • Our faith is not in what we understand, but in what our God knows.
        • Matthew 6:8 (ESV) ~ Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
      • You can trust your God with all your needs.
        • Romans 8:26-28 (ESV) ~ Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
