Where’s Your Focus?

Exodus 6:1 (ESV) ~ “But the LORD said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.””

Notice something in this verse that God said to Moses … “Now you shall see what I will do …”

Let’s take a look back at Exodus 4 & 5. We see Exodus 4:18-31 and you see that Moses returns to Egypt. Verse 21, the Lord says to Moses, “ … “When you go back to Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the miracles that I have put in your power. …”

The rest of chapter 4 and all of chapter 5 is about how Pharaoh is making life harder and harder for the Children of Israel.
Let’s look at Exodus 4:22-23 (ESV) ~ “Then Moses turned to the LORD and said, “O Lord, why have you done evil to this people? Why did you ever send me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has done evil to this people, and you have not delivered your people at all.””

Going back to our original verse …Exodus 6:1 (ESV) ~ “But the LORD said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.””
When we are following the path that God has laid before us, when we are doing our own thing, sometimes we get our FOCUS off where it needs to be. We start focusing on important or unimportant items in our life: Work, Home life, Our Children’s activities, Family Problems, Finances

Then when we gather together at church, what seems to be going through our minds, all the items we are FOCUSING on,  The problems and trials of life. When at church, more things seems to get our attention: I don’t like how the Sunday School teacher says a certain word, I wish someone would _____________, They are singing that song again, That person doesn’t need to be on the Praise Team, Why hasn’t someone changed that light bulb yet, The pastor preaches too long / not long enough, and The pastor isn’t wearing a tie

Where is our focus at? We need to be focus on Christ, the one whom the Sunday School lesson is pointing us to, the one whom the songs are being sung to, the one whom the sermon is pointing us to.

Our live is not to be about all the things of this world, the trials we face, the problems we go through, but out live is to be about WHO is shining through us to the world around us.
Where is our focus at?

Notice one more time our original verse …Exodus 6:1 (ESV) ~ “But the LORD said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.””

God assured Moses: I am the LORD (Jehovah, Yahweh). The basic meaning of LORD is Savior, Redeemer, and Deliverer. The LORD was able to redeem and deliver the people of God (Exodus 6:2-3). This was a very special revelation being made to Moses, a very special experience that God was giving to His dear messenger who was so crushed, broken, and desperate.
