Who are Ministers?

Ministers of God are Servants
1 Corinthians 3:5-9 ~ “Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
Ministers of God are Servants
Two points of servanthood are stressed:
1. Ministers are only instruments of God.
John 21:16 ~ “He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
2. Ministers can help people only as God gifts them.
Romans 12:6 ~ “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith.
