Stand

Ephesians 6:13 ~ “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
There is a duty of the Christian Soldier. His duty is to take the whole armour of God.
Why must we put on the armour of God? It is an absolute necessity.
Armour of God
Defensive Armour for Protection:
  • Helmet – for the head
  • Girdle – to brace the armor tight against the body and support the weapons
  • Breastplate – two parts; one to cover the front and one to cover the back
  • Greaves – covers the shins
  • Shield – to protect the body from blow and cuts
Offensive Armour for Conquest:
  • Sword – to destroy the enemy and bring his surrender
Why must we put on the armour of God? It is an absolute necessity.
Because the day we are living is is “evil”.
We must withstand the day of evil. But we cannot withstand unless we have done our duty – unless we have obeyed and prepared ourselves – unless we have taken the whole armour of God!
Having done all to stand” – Military phrase; having conquered all, stand, ready to do battle again.
2 Corinthians 10:4 ~ “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.
