Wednesday Evening, December 2, 2015 ~ What kind of JOY do you want?

What kind of JOY do you want?

1 Thessalonians 5:16 ~ “Rejoice evermore.
The means of the word JOY in the Greek is as follows:
  • Verb ~ Rejoice (Philippians 3:1; 4:4; Colossians 1:24)
  • Noun ~ Joy (John 15:11; 16:20; 1 Thessalonians 1:6)
When a Christian has the right joy, he can say . . .
1 Corinthians 15:10 ~ “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly that they all; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Our joy is only possible through the Grace of God by our faith in Jesus Christ!
Our joy is related to Christian virtues:
  • Romans 4:17 ~ “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and JOY in the Holy Ghost.”
  • Galatians 5:22-23 ~ “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
  • Others: Acts 2:46; 8:39;  13:52; 16:34; Romans 12:12; 2 Corinthians 1:24; 8:2; Philippians 1:25; 1 Peter 1:8
The Bible shows us that our JOY should not be static, but show growth in God!
James 1:2 ~ “My brethren, count it all JOY when ye fall into divers temptations.
